Rule of thirds is an excellent starting point for any composition which allows for a more balanced and visually appealing image.
Help bring a mundane image to life by including a prop or two. Look all around you and find a prop to include in this image.
Being able to anticipate your subjects movement is a key skill to practice. (particularly in Street photography)
Use your surroundings to create a frame for your image. It might be using the trees, windows or reflections.
Make an image that works well in Black & White and be ready to explain why.
Using windows, puddles or any reflective surface like your phone to create an extra level of depth and detail in this image.
Using one of your newfound techniques from above to capture a cityscape.
